LOBUSCO

Lobusco is a speakeasy concept built around mystery, narrative, and discovery — a place that exists somewhere between myth and reality.

We led the project from naming through full brand identity development. The goal was to create a bar concept that would stand out in the nightlife scene by transforming a simple visit into an experience driven by curiosity, storytelling, and word-of-mouth intrigue.

Inspired by urban legends and local culture, Lobusco positions itself not as a place you go to, but as something you encounter.

Insights

Speakeasy culture thrives on exclusivity, secrecy, and the thrill of discovery. However, many concepts rely heavily on aesthetics while overlooking narrative depth.

In Yucatán, a well-known phrase — “lo busco, lo busco, pero no lo busco” — plays with the dual meaning of searching and finding.

This duality revealed a powerful insight:

The best speakeasies are not just hidden.
They feel like they are searching for you as much as you are searching for them.

This inversion became the foundation of the brand.

NAMING+BRANDING

Problem Solving

We built Lobusco around a central idea:

A legend you can walk into.

The concept evolves into a character:

A mythical figure — part rumor, part presence — “wanted” for creating excessive fun and chaos.

This narrative informed the entire identity system:

- Concept: A speakeasy built as an urban legend

- Naming: Rooted in regional language, adding cultural depth and memorability

- Tone of Voice: Playful, mysterious, slightly provocative

- Visual Language: Dark, atmospheric, and character-driven — reinforcing the idea of something hidden yet alive

- Messaging Platform:
“Lobusco te está buscando” / “Lobusco is looking for you”

The result is a brand that doesn’t just invite — it pursues.
